The Dooms Day!!!

Question??
On more than one occasion, Vowell brings up that doom can bring people together. Is something that is so negative able to bring people together in a postive way?
Response*Yes,neagtivity can bring people together, negative situations can bring people who truly despise eachother together and they can be civilized for that one moment without any chaos. Which I think is very beautiful despite the doom, that is soon to come for them.

For instance during funerals, people who have not even  seen eachother in years, or spoken to one another in this situation can be with one another. Just for the simple fact that at that moment in time it is very sad, and many are grieving over a loved one and everyone in that room had sometype of connection with that person and they are content with putting aside the anger for that person. Even though they may not like the fact that they have to do it.

I remember my two friends were arguing for the longest and the death of someone brought them back together for that one moment to comfort someone they really cared for. Even thought after that they went right back to  HATING eachother. That one moment was very touching and sweet.

  1. Have you thought about how in a situation like death that even though it usually can bring people together it can also tear them apart?

  2. Even if it is only for a short period of time, it is still ironic that something so negative can bring people together.

  3. I completely agree with your response that it can bring certain people close together. but it can also really tear them apart to the point where you can;t even communicate.

  4. I like your point about putting aside anger. I also know from personal experience, that this tends to happen a lot with funerals. A very popular girl at my high school committed suicide in March, and it really formed a unity between friends and even enemies. This certain event completely changed me as a person, and I made it my goal to be on good terms with everyone. Even my enemies.
