They Pourd Fire on Us From the Sky

What do you think the boys held onto in their minds that made it worth to live and persevere?

In the book I believe that when the three boys lost there families they didn't have any other motivation to live because they had to walk so far without food, barely any water and without there parents to help them get to a safer place. but as they met up with one anther they started to get hope that there parents were still alive and that they were looking for them. As they were walking across Ajakageer desert they were with a little boy named Monyde. When they were walking through a tribe and found the boy the soldier said that he wasn't strong enough to keep up with the rest of everybody but he was given the chance to follow. I think after seeing the boy make it as far as he did gave Benson, Benjamin, Alepho the confidence to make it all the way to safety.

  1. I agree with you that Monyde was motivation for the boys. While he was still alive he encouraged them with his light heart, and after he died they learned from the strength he showed.

  2. I also agreed with what you were saying about Monyde. He did give the boy and the other people confidence to continue with thier journey and prove the people who doubted him wrong.
